A Sweeping View

For those who know people who have to be angry in order to be happy.

 You Know Who  

 

You know who I mean, the woman who's hurt  

who feels she has rights to be mad and curt  

the one who thinks she loves but anger shows  

for it's the only emotion she knows  

as all love for self she still represses  

resentment's the feeling she expresses  

so that others will know that she's been hurt  

and has rights to be indignant and curt.  

 

For a child who grew bitter it was just  

a matter of time 'fore she nurtured lust  

to rail at the world for doing her wrong  

carrying her grudges forever long  

not wanting to lose the comforts of pain

even if she made a marriage profane  

so that others will know that she's been hurt  

and has rights to be self-righteous and curt.

 

Her quarrelsome reactions bring her strife

and she wonders why she's lonely in life  

for people shy from one so contentious  

but out of spite she'll remain dissentious  

so that others will know that she's been hurt  

and has rights to be combative and curt.
